Donny Lia began his racing career on a computer. For years, the New York native used racing simulators to get his speed fix. Today Lia rarely has time to fire up the racing games because he's spending all of his time on the real racetrack.
After Lia won the NASCAR Whelen Modified Series championship, he became one of the hottest properties in racing, and this season Donny has become one of the most talked-about rookie drivers on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series circuit.
For most of the 2008 season, Lia and TRG have had to settle for a blank blue Chevrolet Silverado - however, starting in May the #71 Chevy will be sporting the colors of a startup automotive website called NationRides.com. The startling new black, red, white and blue paint scheme adorning the #71 comes courtesy of Thunderbird Creative Media.
Lia and NationRides.com contacted Thunderbird to create not only a new livery for the TRG Motorsports truck, but the entire NationRides.com branding itself. Desiring a highly visible iconic brand for their new service, NationRides.com engaged Thunderbird to create a patriotic-themed, eye catching logo design to give their new service a distinct identity.
Needing a quick turnaround for not only the logo design but the truck livery and uniform designs, TRG and NationRides.com were not disappointed. Less than a week from first contact, TRG was going to vinyl with a striking new aggressive paint design for Lia's truck, and NationRides.com was ready to unveil their new brand to the world.
